Adele has been forced to cancel two tour dates after she contracted a severe cold and chest infection.
The “Chasing Pavements” singer was scheduled to kick off her tour in Plymouth on Sunday, September 4 and on Monday, September 5 in Bournemouth. The singer was very apologetic, having an official notice posted on her website.
It’s been a big year for Adele, whose album ’21′ is up for the Mercury Prize. The winner of the coveted award will be announced on Wednesday, September 7.
’21′ is may be Adele’s sophmore album, but she quickly rose to fame after the release of her debut album, ’19.’ Adele received awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards. She has won numerous other awards for her work, winning 7 of the 30 different awards that she has been nominated for. In addition to being nominated for awards in the pop music category, Adele has also been nominated for the CMT Performance of the Year and has been nominated for multiple MOBO Awards.
According to the notice posted on her website, each of the postponed shows will be rescheduled as soon as possible and original tickets for the shows will still be valid.
