Adele Forced to Cancel US Tour 2011

Adele

For the second time in a year and only weeks after canceling part of her UK tour, “Rolling in the Deep” singer Adele has been forced to cancel her entire US tour. The announcement came when doctors advised the singer to take a complete rest, forcing the cancellation.

Adele has been experiencing difficulties with her voice for some time. A bout of laryngitis earlier this year had forced her into a similar situation and she was forced to cancel those tour dates as well. The discovery of the hemorrhage left little choice for the music star.

“I apologize from the bottom of my heart,” Adele said, in a statement that was posted to her website.

She went on to explain that singing was not just a job or a hobby, but her entire life. Adele also acknowledged the possibility of heavy repercussions if she did not give herself a chance to recover fully. Without rest and healing, she noted, she ran the high risk of damaging her voice forever.

The tour was set to kick off her 10-gig US tour in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Friday.

“My voice is weak and I need to build it up,” she wrote. “I’ll be starting vocal rehab.”
