Universal Studios in Hollywood will be welcoming a new attraction this year. “Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare” will be a part of the new Halloween Horror Maze.
The maze is said to feature elements from the Cooper show that includes guillotine decapitations, electric chairs, and an insane asylum in addition to snakes and spiders. According to a statement released by Cooper, there is no more appropriate of a place to create the attraction.
“We’ll be creating this living horror movie within screaming distance of the sound stages where horror movies first began, so there’s no place more appropriate to offer a preview of the new `Welcome 2 My Nightmare,’” Cooper said.
Cooper’s hard rock music reached its heyday in the 70s, but his career spans across more than four decades. His stage shows draw inspiration from vaudeville and horror films, featuring the use of electric chairs, baby dolls, boa constrictors, guillotines, and more. Along with his band, Cooper broke into mainstream success in the early 70s with the song “I’m 18,” and is responsible for the teenage anthem, “School’s Out.” Cooper is also responsible for the popular 90s hit song “Poison,” as well as the ballad “Only My Heart Talkin’.”
“Welcome 2 My Nightmare,” a sequel to Cooper’s “Welcome To My Nightmare” album is scheduled to be released in September.
