Britney Spears failed to impress this week as she brought her world tour to the UK.
The “Femme Fatale Tour” is in support of the star’s seventh studio album. Writers for The Guardian were unmoved by her performance at the O2, almost citing it as a dud while noting that the singer has failed to bring the sex appeal, that once brought her so much attention, to the stage. Adrian Thrills, of The Daily Mail, was also unmoved by Britney’s October 29th show. While Thrills did note that the singer looked far more fit than she has during recent years.
The performer, who is also the mother of two boys, experienced a now infamous meltdown several years ago where she shaved her head and temporarily lost custody of her sons. She was also court ordered to be under the custody of her father, who continues to watch over Britney’s business deals and transaction.
Britney took the world by storm at the age of 15 with her smash hit, “Baby… One More Time.” The accompanying music video helped shoot her into super stardom, focusing on the then teen’s innocent appearance laced with the most subtle sexual overtones.
Her UK leg of the ‘Femme Fatale Tour’ will wrap up on November 6th.
