The members of Coldplay have announced that they will be hosting a charity benefit concert event on December 10, 2011 at London’s O2 Arena.

The event, entitled Under 1 Roof, will feature Tinie Tempah, Rob Brydon, Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge, and Emeli Sandé in addition to Coldplay. Funds raised at the special concert will go to benefit Kids Company, a charity that assists youth in some of London’s poorest areas. Kids Company serves more than three dozen schools and four centres in the area.

Coldplay has offered continued support to the cause, a move for which the organization’s founder and CEO, Camila Batmanghelidjh, has been most grateful.

“They have already provided funds to help thousands of children who have suffered violence and neglect,” Batmanghelidjh said. “How amazing that they are!”

Batmanghelidjh also noted her excitement that others will be joining Under 1 Roof and contributing to the event’s cause and shared her hopes that the event will become annual.

The members of Coldplay are also excited and hope that many will turn out for the concert, sharing that they hold the organization close to their hearts.

“We hope that people get behind the event to raise as much money as possible,” the group said.

Tickets for Coldplay’s Under 1 Roof charity concert go on sale Friday, November 25th at 9 a.m.
