Teen pop star Justin Bieber forgot to thank some pretty important people when he made his acceptance speech at this week’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony. One of the people that the teen forgot to mention in his speech is girlfriend and fellow pop star Selena Gomez.
As Bieber held tightly to his new prize of Best Male Video, he gave thanks to God and Jesus, saying that he could not have come so far in his career without them.
“Also, I want to say thank you to all the other nominees,” Bieber said. “They were amazing. I’m a true fan of all of them, so I want to share this award with all of them.”
Despite having received an on-camera kiss from Gomez just before taking the stage, Bieber forgot to mention her in his speech as well as his own fans. He soon realized that he had omitted the important people from his speech and later took to his Twitter account where he gave an apology.
Bieber said that he “blanked out” once he was on the stage and that he “forgot a lot of things in the moment.”
The blunder appears to have drawn a lot of attention and it was noted that the teen didn’t mention his girlfriend in his apologetic Tweet, but so far she doesn’t seem to mind.
