Dolly Parton kicked off the UK leg of her ‘Better Day’ tour in Glasgow on Saturday at SECC.
The legendary country singer took the stage wearing a tasseled dress before giving her famous assets a look and a quick comment.
“We are so excited,” she said, “and as you can see, I’m ready to go.”
Parton became one of the world’s most popular country singers after she released a string of hit songs in the 70s and 80s, many of which were duets. Some of her most well known songs include “Coat of Many Colors,” “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” and “I Will Always Love You.” “Jolene” was most notably covered by The White Stripes while “I Will Always Love You” turned into a mega-hit for pop star Whitney Houston.
Parton has released more than 40 studio albums. ‘Better Day’ consists of a blend of both old and new materials. The album of the same name debuted at No. 11 on the Top Country Albums Chart, while it only debuted at No. 51 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. The album was both highly anticipated and widely received, earning great reviews from fans and critics across the globe.
Parton is, in addition to her music, known for her bubbly personality, trademark giggle, philanthropy work, and her bulging breasts.
The country crooner played a second show last night at the SECC and is set to take the stage tonight at the Nottingham Arena.
