Foo Fighters to Release New Single

The Foo Fighters have confirmed that their new single, “Arlandria,” is to be released on September 5.

The single is the third from the group’s widely received ‘Wasting Light’ album, which hit No. 1 in 11 countries shortly after its April release. The band has spent much of the summer making rounds through all of the popular music festivals in Europe as well as Lollapalooza in Chicago. The Fighters also rocked the stage as they pumped up crowds of nearly 130,000 at the Milton Keynes Bowl.

The Foo Fighters were brought together by drummer David Grohl after his then recently accepted term with Nirvana came to a screeching halt upon the death of frontman Kurt Cobain. Before Cobain’s death, Grohl began writing songs as he toured with the grunge gods. Grohl was the group’s only official member when the Foo Fighters’ debut album released in 1995.

The band eventually became a rock staple with songs such as “Monkey Wrench,” “My Hero,” and “Learn to Fly,” which carried the group into fame and through the end of the 90s. They saw even more success with their fourth album in 2002 before releasing two subsequent albums in 2005 and 2007.

“Arlandria” has proved to be a hit with fans, as well as “Rope” and “Walk.”

The ‘Wasting Light’ album was produced by former Garbage and Nirvana member Butch Vig and was recorded in Grohl’s own garage.
