Singer Jennifer Nettles, of Sugarland fame, recently married boyfriend Justin Miller. The couple had been dating for two years before marrying at a private ceremony on November 27th in Tennessee.
Nettles and Miller met when the groom worked as a model. He appeared in the band’s 2006 video for the song “Want To.” Nettles was married to club owner Todd Van Sickle at the time, but the then couple divorced in 2007.
Any initial honeymoon bliss that the pair hoped to experience will temporarily be put on hold by Nettles’ music career. Sugarland will be performing at an awards nomination concert Wednesday, followed by acting as hosts for a CMA Christmas show on Thursday.
A honeymoon and the holidays are likely not to be the only thing on Nettles’ mind as she, along with the rest of Sugarland, were recently presented with a lawsuit. Sugarland was set to take the stage at the Indiana State Fair in August 2011 when a wind gust forced the stage to collapse. The stage rigging crashed down on an unsuspecting crowd, killing four and injuring nearly 4 dozen others.
The lawsuit claims that Sugarland had complete discretion over most aspects of the stage set-up and had refused to cancel the show due to inclement weather. The lawsuit was filed by all 44 survivors of the incident as well as surviving family members of those killed during the incident.
