The Kaiser Chiefs have confirmed their plans to make an extensive tour of the UK in early 2012.
The Leeds based band has scheduled no less than 20 stops in the UK for January and February. They kick off the tour at the Llandudno’s Cymru Arena on January 27 on Wales and will wrap things up at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on February 23.
The group released ‘The Future is Medieval,’ their fourth studio album, early this year.
The Kaiser Chiefs took a unique approach for the production of their latest album. The album consists of 20 songs, but when the band announced their new website earlier this year, the website allowed for fans to create their own albums by downloading up to 10 of the actual albums 20 tracks. Users could then purchase their custom-made album or even share their compilations with other fans on the site. The albums were then sold, with a small nominal amount going back to the creator of the compilations. It is reported that celebrities and even Chiefs members themselves created albums, some of whom donated the earned amount to charity.
Before kicking off their UK tour, the group will be performing two sets for their hometown crowd at Leeds’ Kirstall Abbey on September 10 and 11.
Tickets for the Kaiser Chief’s 2012 tour go on sale August 26 at 9 a.m.
