Kasabian has recently announced their 13-date tour of the UK, which includes an exclusive New Years Eve show at The O2 Arena in London.
The band, from Leicester, will be supported by popular performers Chase & Status, as well as by a DJ set from Zane Lowe of Radio1. A full orchestra will be accompanying the group on stage for an added treat. The show will feature a stage set, designed to look like an orange. The concept was brought together by artists Serge and Aitor Throup in conjunction with a lighting technician named Nick. The set features a unique sound based lighting system that will shift its level of brightness based on the noise levels of the crowd.
The tour, which kicks off November 28 in Brighton, is in support of the group’s most recent album, ‘Velociraptor!’
The members of Kasabian have managed to keep their composure among negative reviews from critics claiming that the group has “gone time.” Frontman Tom Meighan said simply that the band doesn’t receive the credit that it deserves.
“We can’t do ‘Club Foot’ for ever,” Meighan said. “We are an albums band now. That means we don’t get the big hit singes anymore.”
Tickets for the New Year’s Eve blowout with Kasabian, Chase & Status, and Zane Lowe go on sale Friday, November 1th at 9 a.m.
