Columbia Pictures announced today that Kathryn Bigelow’s next untitled film will hit theaters on October 12, 2012.
As we’ve already reported, the project will deal with the black ops SEAL team hunting down Osama bin Laden. After bin Laden’s death, the film was updated to include those important facts.
Bigelow will reunite with The Hurt Locker screenwriter Mark Boal for this next film as well and should begin production shortly.
Boal and Bigelow will also produce the project, along with Annapurna Pictures.
No word on casting yet, but details should start to emerge soon.
