King of Leon’s Lead Focusing on Recovery

Kings of Leon

Caleb Followill, lead singer of Kings of Leon, has spoken to the public after the band decided to cancel their US tour.

The decision to scrap the tour came after Followill left the stage in the middle of a Dallas concert. Although he said that he would be returning to complete the set, the extreme heat and exhaustion had taken their toll on the singer.

In a statement to TMZ, Followill said that he was attempting to “get better” and that his voice was “pretty messed up.” Followill cited his voice as the reason for leaving the Dallas stage. An announcement made later by brother and fellow bandmate Jared Followill hinted apologized on behalf of the group and hinted that the band may be experiencing problems besides heat exhaustion. Fans have since speculated that Caleb was drunk when he appeared on stage at the Dallas gig and that there are mounting tension between himself and the rest of the band.

US Weekly has reported that those close to Followill, including his bandmates, have urged him to get help by checking into a rehab facility.

King of Leon’s tour cancellation was for 28 gigs, including two rescheduled concerts in Dallas and in Houston.
