Kings of Leon Cancel US Concert Date Due to Heat Wave

Kings of Leon

The US has been experiencing a record breaking heat wave that has left states that have typically mild summer sweltering. Popular band Kings of Leon canceled a recent Dallas concert after lead singer Caleb Followill walked off of the stage during the middle of a show to get a drink and never returned.

After playing 11 songs at the Dallas gig, Followill announced that he was going backstage to get a drink and that he would return. Except that he never did. One fan posted a video in the Internet where Followill could be heard making complaints about the extreme temperatures.

“My voice is 100 percent wrong,” said Followil. “Do you know what? I’m going to drink some beer… And I’m going to have a good time. For the record, I’m not drunk I’m just [expletive] hot. I’m about to fall down here because I’m so god damn hot.”

It was announced a short while later that Followill would not be returning to the stage due to suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. His brother and bandmate, Jared Followill, later issued an apology via Twitter.

“Dallas, I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am,” Jared wrote. “I can’t lie. There are bigger problems in our band than not drinking enough Gatorade.”
