Michael Jackson has long been considered to be The King of Pop. His sudden death shocked fans across the world and left a huge hole in the hearts of all of the family that he left behind. His mother, Katherine Jackson, has recently been working to organize a Michael Jackson tribute concert and legendary rock band Kiss has confirmed that they will be joining the line-up.
Kiss joining the roster of those to perform at the concert comes as a shock to many as Simmons has previously commented that he has associated Jackson with the crime of pedophilia.
The concert is to be held October 8 at Cardiff Stadium, but the surviving members of the Jackson family are divided about their mother’s desire to hold the concert. Brothers Randy and Jermaine have deemed that the concert is “inappropriate” and even “ill-timed,” while siblings LaToya, Tito, Marlon, and Jackie are said to be supportive of their mother’s wish. There has been no official word as to sister Janet’s reaction.
Jackson began his recording career as a member of the Jackson Five, along with his older brothers. He produced a string of solo hits in the 80s and 90s that include songs such as “Thriller,” “Man in The Mirror,” “Black or White,” and “Beat It.” He died died in June 2009 after suffering a heart attack due to an accidental prescription drug overdose, leaving behind three young children.
Cee Lo Green, Smokey Robinson, and Christina Aguilera are among those scheduled to perform at the October 8 oncert.
