Liam Gallagher Re-ignites Sibling Rivalry with Brother Noel – Reading Festival 2011

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher and his brother Noel are known for their never-ending sibling rivalry. The world was saddened, but not surprised, when that very rivalry prompted Noel to leave their band Oasis for good. Liam, along with the band’s remaining members, regrouped and called themselves Beady Eye, while forever banishing Oasis songs from their set lists. Noel Gallagher took to a solo career, collaborating with numerous artists on various projects before bringing together Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

The two brothers reportedly patched things over just before Liam announced on August 11 that he had filed suit against his sibling and former bandmate. Now it is reported that Liam took deeper digs at his brother during Beady Eye’s stage concert debut at the Reading Festival on August 26.

Although Liam has already dropped the suit against his brother, that didn’t stop him from making a comment about Noel on stage.

“He’s probably over there,” Liam told the crowd, “playing a f***ing acoustic guitar.”

Time will tell if the remark will be dismissed by Noel or if it will simply reignite and continue to fuel the decades old rivalry between the brothers, whose music became a staple of the mid-90s music scene.
