After suffering from two miscarriages and recently marrying Sam Cooper, Lily Allen changed her name and announced her retirement from pop music. Now the “Alright Still” performer has spoken that she may one day again return to the stage.
“Maybe I’ll be Lily Rose Cooper, the country artist,” she said, during an interview with the Daily Express. “When I do go to gigs I get the slight pang of envy.”
Despite her recent break from recording and performing pop music, Allen’s vocals will be featured on T-Pain’s upcoming album, alongside those of Ke$ ha and Chris Brown. The starlet has also shared that she is pregnant once again.
“Oh, I do miss being up on that stage,” Allen said. “But I have other priorities at the moment.”
Allen has began expanding her career by starting her own music label. Although she continues writing, the majority of what she writes is not intended for herself. Allen and Cooper began dating in 2009 before finally marrying in June 2011. Her pregnancy was not made public until wedding day photos revealed a baby bump through her wedding dress.
“I’ve just written the Bridget Jones musical,” she boasted, “which will probably be up on stage next year.”
Lily will appear on the August 2011 cover of Elle magazine as Lily Cooper.
