Metallic and former Velvet Underground member Lou Reed have announced the track listing for an upcoming collaborative album. The album, ‘Lulu,’ is largely inspired by the works of German playwright Frank Wededkind.
The album’s music and lyrics were originally composed by Reed to be part of a theatrical production. It was decided after a series of 2009 collaborative concerts between Metallica and Reed that the two entities wished to work together in the future.
The album was recorded at HQ studios in California and the name of the first single to be released from the album has not yet been announced. The ‘Lulu’ tracklisting will feature:
“The View,” “Junior Dead,” “Little Dog,” “Dragon,” “Iced Honey,” “Frustration,” “Cheat On Me,” “Brandenburg Gate,” “Mistress Dead,” and “Pumping Blood.”
Metallica has been rocking the music industry for nearly three decades. The group went on to become a staple for metalheads with popular hits such as “Enter Sandman,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Until It Sleeps.” Metallica went on to explore their horizons with the release of ‘S&M,’ which featured the band performing a mix of hit songs, as well as some new, alongside the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.
Reed has appeared on 11 albums with Velvet Underground and recorded more than two dozen solo albums since his career began in the mid 1960s. He has also appeared in several feature films.
