Michael Jackson Family Infuriated After Death Photo Displayed at Trial

Michael Jackson

The family of Michael Jackson were said to be infuriated after a postmortem photo of the King of Pop was shown at the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray is the physician who was caring for Jackson at the time of his death.

The trial began taking place this week at the Criminal Courts Building in Los Angeles on Tuesday. During opening arguments, a photo that featured Jackson lying upon a hospital stretcher was shown, causing Jackson’s mother to burst into tears. Attorney Brian Oxman told The Sun that family members were shocked that the photograph was shown in court.

“Mrs. Jackson is very upset,” Oxman said.

Oxman went on to reveal that the family had not wanted the picture to be revealed to the public.

Dr. Murray is on trial for his possible role in Jackson’s death. Jackson was discovered unresponsive in his bed on June 25, 2009. Attempts by Dr. Murray to resuscitate the pop star proved to be in vain. Autopsy reports revealed that Jackson had suffered a heart attack after being administered propofol and lorazepam.

Murray has been charged with manslaughter and the prosecution contends that his actions were “gross negligence” that directly led to Jackson’s death.
