Muse Hysteria Voted Best Ever Bassline

Muse 2012

MusicRadar conducted a recent poll among its readers to determine which song had the best bassline of all time.

Muse took home the prize, with their 2003 song “Hysteria” being voted as the surprise winner. Muse beat out a myriad of popular hit songs including “Money” by Pink Floyd and “Under Pressure.” Queen’s smash hit and arena anthem “Another One Bites the Dust.” The group also held another spot in the Top 10.

Who else did the group knock out for the title? Rockers Metallica held a spot in the Top 10, along with 80s band Yes, The Who, Tool, and the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson.

The group, currently working on their sixth studio album, spent much of the year touring. Many of their 2011 shows featured stops at popular music festivals such as Lollapalooza, L.A. Rising, Reading, and Leeds. Muse began writing and recording the anticipated album in September. Although manager Anthony Addis expects the album to be released by October 2012, an exact date for the album’s release is unknown.

Muse has received numerous industry awards and achievements. The band has won the coveted Mercury Prize once, a single MTV Video Music Award, five Q Awards, and two Brit Awards. Muse also won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album for ‘The Resistance.’
