Almost immediately following the tragic, unexplained July 23 death of soulful singer Amy Winehouse, her album ‘Back to Black’ re-emerged on the music charts. The famed album took the No. 1 spot in the UK Albums Chart for three weeks before being slowly knocked back a few notches.
The dubstep duo known as Nero have released their debut album, ‘Welcome Reality,’ which moved ‘Back to Black’ from the top spot down to No. 3. The albums chart isn’t the only place where Nero is seeing success. The group has also enjoyed some top time on the singles chart before being kicked off of the throne by Wretch 32′s “Don’t Go.”
“Heaven” by Emeli Sande and Maroon 5′s “Moves Like Jagger” are also moving their way around the chart. “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perry is also moving, sliding down to the No. 4 spot, just a step ahead of Nero’s “Promises.”
Although ‘Welcome Reality’ is the group’s debut album, it is not the first time that their songs have seen chart topping success. In 2010, the duo released two singles, “Innocence” and “Me and You,” before the release of a third single early this year.
“Innocence” was released on April 26, 2010 and reached spots in the Top 20 of both the UK Singles Chart, the Dance charts, and the Independent music charts. Both singles, along with their latest song, “Promises.”
