Noel Gallagher Tickets High Flying Birds Tour Has Sold Out

Noel Gallgher only recently announced that he’d be taking his latest project, Noel Gallgher’s High Flying Birds, on the road, but the tickets for concerts sold out in a phenomenal short period of time.

The tour is set to kick off in Dublin on October 23 at the Olympia Theater. The Dublin show will be followed by an October 27 at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall and conclude on October 29 at the Hammerstein Apollo Theater in London. An announcement on the band’s website confirmed that the shows sold out within just a matter of minutes after ticket outlets opened for sales to the shows.

Noel Gallagher is widely known for his work with the now semi-defunct band, Oasis. Gallagher’s brother Liam was also a member of Oasis and this often led to intense sibling rivalries and fights that caused great friction in the band as a whole. Oasis exploded in popularity, reaching great acclaim in the mid-90s in America with their hit songs “Champagne Supernova” and “Wonderwall.”

Tensions between Gallagher and his brother continued to mount. After an argument between the them, Noel departed Oasis. After Noel’s exit, Liam Gallager regrouped the band who now present themselves with a new image and have distanced themselves from their Oasis days. Beady Eye, as the group is now called, no longer plays Oasis songs to the public.

Gallagher subsequently worked on a number of collaborative projects before bringing together Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

The tour will be his first live performances since performing last year at a benefit shows for the Teen Cancer Trusts. It is also the first ever live gig for the High Flying Birds. When asked about future plans for the band, Gallagher remained down to earth.

”We’re going to start off slow in small theatres. If it’s good enough to get bigger than that then it’ll get bigger than that,” he said at a recent press conference.

Gallgher went on to say that he did not believe that the 2011 tour would be much more than a “quick whizz around the world,” playing in select major cities, but that he did believe the band would be involved in a much bigger tour in 2012.

The group’s self titled debut album hits store shelves on October 17.
