Radiohead will be kicking off their first US tour in nearly four years on February 27 in Miami.
The group will be taking to the road to support their latest album release, ‘The King of Limbs,’ and will receive support for at least 10 gigs by the Oklahoma based rock band, Other Lives. Only the tour’s opening date has been announced, but announcement for subsequent tour dates will be announced over the coming weeks. Members of Radiohead are currently taking the holiday season to work on their own projects and enjoy the time before making the final preparations for the tour.
Guitarist Ed O’Brien has expressed interest in a charity that benefits children with inoperable brain tumors. O’Brien recently signed the guitar that was used to record the Radiohead albums ‘Kid A’ and ‘Amnesiac.’ The guitar, he also noted, was used in the groups ‘Rainbow’ tour. A handwritten and signed note from the guitarists grants is authenticity.
The 13-year-old guitar is currently up for auction on eBay, with the current list price well over $ 8,000. A spokesman for the charity expressed the organization’s gratitude, as well as the hope that the instrument will find its way into the hands of a serious Radiohead fan.
