The first images have premiered from Image Entertainment’s The Double starring Richard Gere and Topher Grace.
Gere stars as a retired CIA agent whom the agency returns to duty with a rookie FBI agent (Grace) when a U.S. senator is murdered. Why does this slaying call for the involvement of the international spooks of the CIA? Because the senator’s dead body bears the marking of a notorious Russian killer known only as Cassius.
The Double opens September 23 and also stars True Blood’s Stephen Moyer, You Again’s Odette Yustman and screen legend Martin Sheen.
Gere’s retired CIA agent Paul Shepherdson has spent his entire career on the trail of Cassius, and is actually convinced the killer is dead. With the senator’s death and the symbol left on his dead body matching that of the Soviet assassin, Shepherdson’s former boss at the CIA (Sheen) implores his former colleague to take the case.
Grace’s character, Ben Geary, wrote his graduate school thesis on Shepherdson’s pursuit of Cassius and is teamed with the retired spy to determine if Cassius is in fact dead, or instead, fully charged and back to his killing ways.
