Rihanna has issued an official apology to her European fans after arriving a whopping 90 minutes late to the stage at her Belfast show last night.
The “California King Bed” singer was supposed to take stage at the Odyssey Arena at 8:45 p.m. but did not arrive until 10:15, a whole hour and a half later. The show was the first of a three day venture at the Odyssey, with shows to take place tonight, as well as tomorrow, October 1. According to reporters for the Belfast Telegraph, the singer was greeted by boos and jeers when she finally made her entrance.
Rihanna has spent the majority of the week in Belfast, where she also began filming her latest music video, “We Found Love.” It has been reported that the pop star has been enjoying her time there and openly flirting with the video’s co-star, model and boxer Dudley O’Shaughnessy. O’Shaughnessy is said to have been personally chosen for the role by the singer.
Sources say that Rihanna had been seen, taunting her co-star with cleavage and sitting in his lap during breaks while filming.
The singer’s apology was issued via Twitter, as is trend among celebrities this year.
“BELFAST sorry for being so late 2nt!BIG SHOW!FIRST NIGHT!” Rihanna wrote. “Things dont always run smoothly or as planned.”
