Rihanna and Coldplay will be teaming together for a special performance at the 2012 BRIT Awards.

The BRIT Award nominees won’t be announced until January, but preparations to secure stage performers and entertainers are already underway. The awards ceremony itself will take place in February at the O2 Arena in London. Coldplay, along with the “We Found Love” singer, will be paired up to sing “Princess of China” from the band’s latest album, ‘Mylo Xyloto.’

‘Mylo Xyloto’ is a self-proclaimed concept album that follows the highs and lows of love and romance.

One source has said that Adele will be performing at the ceremony as will Noel Gallagher. Adele is currently recovering from surgery to repair a hemorrhage on her vocal cords while Noel has taken his newest act, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, on the road. Gallagher was a founding member of the pop band Oasis before a sibling rivalry with brother Liam spurned Noel, causing him to part ways with the band.

Initial invitations for guest performers are still circulating and not all acts to take the stage have been confirmed. The source says that hopes are high for the ceremony as workers are pushing forward to make the evening the best BRIT Awards ceremony to date.
