Singing sensation Rihanna joined rap artist Eminem on stage as he headlined this year’s V Festival in Staffordshire.
The two paired together in the studio for the hit song, “Love the Way You Lie,” and audience members widely anticipated a collaborative performance after seeing Rihannas name on the bill. Audience members were unable to contain their excitement as Rihanna took the stage for the performance.
Detroit-native Eminem delivered a stellar performance that included “The Way I Am” and his hit song “Without Me.” D-12 also joined the performance for the song “Purple Pills.”
Eminem is widely known for breaking stereotypes as a rap artist, a genre that is dominated by African-American performers. He came onto the scene in 1998 with his debut album. The lead single, “My Name Is,” was well received on MTV and paved the way for future hit songs such as “The Real Slim Shady,” “Lose Yourself,” and “Cleaning Out My Closet.” The rapper also became known for his controversial lyrics which often took swipes at other musical performers, his former wife Kim Scott, and even his own mother, Debbie.”
He recently returned to the recording studio after a brief hiatus.
Eminem and Rihanna are scheduled to take the stage in Chelmsford for the V Festival there to be held tonight in Hylands Park.
