Robbie Williams Hopes to Solo Following Take That Tour

Robbie Williams

Robbie Williams has announced his intentions to plan a solo tour after wrapping up his current reunion tour with Take That. The popular singer, who has battled drug addiction and stage fright, hopes that he will be touring solo again next summer.

One source recently told The Sun that friends and family never expected for Williams to tour again after he dropped out of his 2006 Close Encounters tour to check into a rehab facility.

“He had a hellish time the last time he did a global tour,” the source said. “But he’s really come around again. Rob’s in such a great place at the moment.”

Williams has enjoyed a successful career that has spanned across three decades. He first began performing with Take That at the age of sixteen, but a near fatal overdose the night before a music awards ceremony led the band to deliver him an ultimatum. The group eventually split and Williams began to enjoy a career as a solo recording artist. He is currently the best selling solo artist in the UK and the best selling non-Latino artist in Latin America. He is best known for his songs “Angels” and “Millennium.”

“It’s unlikely to be near the scale of his other tours but the ball is now rolling,” the source added, in reference to the tour talks.
