Saxon Announces UK Tour

80s heavy metal band Saxon has announced that they will be making their rounds across the UK with their tour kicking off in December.

Saxon began their music career more than four decades ago and have enjoyed success with their chart topping hits “747 (Strangers In The Night)” and “…And The Band Played On.” Although the member lineup has changed multiple times, the group has still managed to continue cranking out albums. “Call To Arms” was released in June 2011 and makes Saxon’s 19th studio album.

“Call To Arms” is the first album in two years for the band and fans greeted its release with hunger. Their UK tour will feature stops in Oxford, Edinburgh, Sheffield, and Leicester, as well as in London. It has been anticipated that the band may add more show dates and venues due to popular demand.

In 2008, television personality and promo man Harvey Goldsmith renewed public interest in the band by featuring them on his show, “Get Your Act Together.” The appearance was followed by a sold out concert in Sheffield. Later that year, they performed at the Download Festival.

Saxon has toured with Ozzy Osborne, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, and Krokus.

Supporting their December tour will be Swedish metal group Hammerfall.
