Smashing Pumpkins Tickets Now on Sale for November UK Tour

Chicago-based alternative rock group the Smashing Pumpkins have confirmed that they will be performing several gigs as part of a UK Tour in November.

The band will kick off their tour on November 11 at the Manchester O2 Apollo. Other stops along the way will include two shows, November 15 and 16, at the Brixton Academy in London. The tour will conclude on November 19 at Birmingham’s O2 Academy.

The Smashing Pumpkins formed in 1988 and has seen several changes in the group’s line-up. While some members chose to leave the group voluntarily, such as D’arcy Wretzky who was later replaced by Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur, but other members such as drummer Jonathon Melvoin who died of a drug overdose.

The group released their debut album, ‘Gish,’ in 1991, followed by ‘Siamese Dream,’ which featured the smash hit songs “Disarm” and “Cherub Rock.” Their third album, a double set entitled ‘Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness’ launched them into mainstream success. The lead single, “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” was widely received, as well as the follow up singles “1979″ and “Tonight, Tonight.” The Smashing Pumpkins have released five subsequent albums and wrapping up production of ‘Oceania,’ which is scheduled for release later this year.

Tickets for the Smashing Pumpkins UK tour go on sale September 9 at 9 a.m.
