Strictly Come Dancing: Alex Jones Heads to Boot Camp

Welsh television presenter and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant Alex Jones was shipped off to live through a boot camp experience by her dance partner, James Jordan.

Jordan choreographed an intense dance routine for the couple requiring rapid speed and precision dexterity. The pair will be performing to the song “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.” A nervous Jones tried to explain the importance of the two elements as well as the immeasurable intensity of the routine.

“James choreographed about 300 steps into one minute and thirty of music,” she explained. “One step wrong and it’s kind of like a domino effect.”

Jordan played the role of drill sergeant to help his partner prepare for the weekend’s performance. The dance coach led Jones through a series of routine military-like relays that involved skipping and maneuvering through tires to navigating rope ladders and nets. The training exercises were carefully selected to help the TV personality gain more precises footing, as well as to show how missing a mark by even the smallest measurement can have dire consequences.

Neither Jordan nor Jones seemed especially nervous about the upcoming show, but Jordan did take a moment to point out that Jones making a single misstep could prove to be a disaster.
